THE BEGINNINGS

Traditions: Natural Grains and Gardens (formally Collinspinach) is a local family owned and operated vegetable farm located in Rockwood, Ontario. Traditions has been farming wholesale spinach at the same location for over 30 years, since it’s establishment in 1979 by Lorne and Peggy Collins.

WHAT’S HAPPENING NOWADAYS

Traditions is now headed by Lorne and Peggy’s son Paul, his wife Robin and their daughter Emily, with the help of Emily’s two sisters. Due to an overwhelming demand for fresh local produce the Collins’ opened a small on farm market providing a multitude of leafy greens. The market is now expanded, encompassing many different varieties of vegetables, cut flowers, baked goods and preserves, with a continued proclivity to leafy greens.

THE FUTURE

For Traditions, the future holds the same goals and determination as Lorne and Peggy Collins forged over 30 years ago. They hope to continue supplying superior produce to locals for an affordable price.

Traditions will endeavor to offer nutritious, flavourful produce at an affordable price, in an effort to supply everyone with equal opportunity to build healthy eating habits. They vow to make informed production decisions that will be ever mindful of the environmental impact, and strive to leave their corner of the world a little better than they found it.
